Happy 2018! Don’t know about you but my year 2017 was less than a blur. I hope your 2018 is healthy, happy, and prosperous. Here’s the first TMI Tuesday of the new year.
As usual, let’s review the past year.
Ash:
1. Did you make any resolutions at the start of 2017? If yes, how did you do at keeping them? What one thing are you still doing?
My only resolution was to give Husband more blow jobs. I started off really well for the first half of the year, but I didn't do so well during the second half. If at first you don't succeed, try try again, right?
2. Pick three words to describe your year 2017.
Fail. Lonely. Overwhelming.
3. What was your biggest personal change in 2017?
I stopped making myself feel bad for the things I need in my life to be happy.
4. What was totally unexpected in your 2017?
My girlfriend broke up with me and I didn't see that coming at all. When that happened, I confided in a friend, Jack. We started talking every day and I fell really hard for him. I didn't see that coming either.
5. What was the best thing that happened to you in 2017?
My LDR with Jack.
Bonus: Did you make new year resolutions for 2018? Share a few with us? Any of them repeats from 2017?
I didn't make any official resolutions for 2018. I plan to continue the blow job one from 2017 and I'm also making it a priority to travel to see Jack at least once this year.
Husband:
1. Did you make any resolutions at the start of 2017? If yes, how did you do at keeping them? What one thing are you still doing?
I wanted to do two things at the start of the year; to get into better physical shape and to learn some practical skill like knitting. I completely blew it with both of those. However, after the year started getting traction I wanted to work on my communication and confrontation issues. This has been a work in progress, and will likely stay that way, but I feel like I have made measureable strides in this and I am proud of myself.
2. Pick three words to describe your year 2017.
Growth. Acceptance. Love.
3. What was your biggest personal change in 2017?
Not letting my emotions build up within me. I finally accepted that I could feel the way I felt and express that without an emotional eruption.
4. What was totally unexpected in your 2017?
I did not have an exact timeline for when I would say I was okay to open our relationship, though it was something that had been stewing for years. I think the fact that it surfaced was unexpected for me.
5. What was the best thing that happened to you in 2017?
Working on my communication and opening up with my emotions. While I still had my emotional ups and downs, my fits and bouts of jealousy, wild rides of anxiety, talking about them before they became deep hurts has been great.
Bonus: Did you make new year resolutions for 2018? Share a few with us? Any of them repeats from 2017?
Getting in shape hits the list again. I would like to continue working on my communication and confrontation issues. I want to really focus on some date nights because I have been horrible at this for more than I am comfortable with.
